Al Gore's Web Site to Run for President

Unable to spark interest in his presidential campaign, the self-proclaimed father of the Internet has decided to let his electronic offspring run in his stead.

"I will, from this moment on, manage my Web site as a contender for the President of the United States," Al Gore announced by way of email, which had as a subject title, "Make Money Fast."

Gore supporters were quick to promote the benefits of an HTML candidate.

"This will dismiss accusations of a wooden personality," said political advisor Rich Spinn. "His Web site has plenty of animated GIFs."

Should it win, the site will be known as President.gov Albert Gore. In the event the files are deleted, management of the executive office will revert to the Web server until a replacement can be uploaded.
